The Planning Engineer (Civil) position is a full-time, on-site role located in Karāchi. The primary responsibility is to plan and control civil engineering projects from start to finish. This includes developing detailed project schedules, coordinating production planning, and aligning resources, timelines, and budgets with project goals. The role requires continuous monitoring of project progress, identifying potential risks or delays, and implementing corrective actions through thorough project control and analysis. The Planning Engineer will work closely with project managers, site teams, and other stakeholders to communicate updates, optimize workflows, and support informed decision-making based on accurate data and forecasts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain realistic project schedules and resource plans to ensure timely project delivery.
- Coordinate production planning activities in alignment with project objectives.
- Monitor project progress, analyze variances, and identify risks or delays.
- Implement corrective measures through effective project control and analytical assessment.
- Collaborate with project managers, site teams, contractors, and clients to communicate project status and updates.
- Support decision-making by providing accurate data, forecasts, and workflow optimization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Strong skills in planning and production planning to develop and maintain project schedules.
- Solid analytical skills and project control capabilities to track performance and recommend corrective actions.
- Effective communication skills for coordination with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients.
- Experience with project management and planning software such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar tools.
- Understanding of civil construction processes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Ability to work on-site, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
