Planning Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Planning Engineer with 3 to 4 years of experience to join our construction and engineering team. The successful candidate will play a key role in project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting. This position involves developing and maintaining detailed project schedules, tracking progress against targets, identifying delays, and supporting project teams in implementing recovery strategies. A strong understanding of project controls, scheduling techniques, and construction coordination is essential to ensure projects meet their milestones and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules aligned with project requirements and contractual milestones.
- Prepare baseline project programs and regularly update schedules to reflect current progress.
- Monitor actual project progress against approved schedules and planned targets.
- Track key milestones, deliverables, and critical activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify schedule deviations, delays, and risks that may impact project completion.
- Conduct schedule monitoring and delay analysis, providing actionable recommendations to the project team.
- Develop recovery and mitigation plans to address any project delays.
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, subcontractors, consultants, and other stakeholders regarding planning and progress updates.
- Prepare accurate weekly and monthly progress reports for management and stakeholders.
- Support project forecasting, resource planning, and schedule optimization efforts.
- Assist in identifying critical path activities and potential scheduling constraints.
- Maintain comprehensive project planning records, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, schedule performance, and potential risks to management.
- Support the project team in achieving planned milestones and successful project completion.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
- 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in project planning and scheduling within construction or engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of construction project planning, scheduling techniques, and project controls.
- Proven ability to analyze project schedules, identify delays, and recommend corrective actions.

Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project for schedule development and management.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Expertise in project planning, baseline scheduling, schedule management, and progress tracking.
- Knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM), delay analysis, recovery planning, and resource planning.
- Experience in project reporting, schedule monitoring, risk, and delay management.

They should be capable of managing complex schedules, performing delay analysis, and supporting resource planning to ensure timely project delivery. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate progress and risks clearly to management and project teams are essential.
