Platform Engineer

We are looking for a seasoned Platform Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience to join our team in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, integration, and operational management of an on-premises modern data platform. This role involves handling infrastructure setup, platform administration, security integration, environment management, and ensuring platform reliability across Development, QA, and Production environments. The ideal candidate should have extensive hands-on experience deploying enterprise data platforms in highly secure environments, with strong skills in troubleshooting, operational support, and infrastructure management.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, and administer data platform components within an on-premises environment.
- Deploy and manage MinIO Object Storage and Apache Iceberg-based data lakehouse architecture.
- Install, configure, and optimize Starburst and/or Dremio platforms for data virtualization and querying.
- Deploy, administer, and support Apache Spark clusters and processing services.
- Install, configure, and manage Informatica components, ensuring seamless integration with the overall platform ecosystem.
- Configure and maintain Development, QA, and Production environments to meet operational requirements.
- Integrate platform components with enterprise security services, including Identity & Access Management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), Active Directory/LDAP, Single Sign-On (SSO), and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
- Implement and support Git-based DevOps and CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes.
- Manage monitoring, logging, backup, disaster recovery, and operational readiness to maintain platform stability.
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of the platform.
- Troubleshoot deployment, configuration, integration, and connectivity issues across the platform stack.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience with MinIO administration and Apache Iceberg.
- Strong expertise in Starburst and/or Dremio platform administration.
- Proficient in Apache Spark cluster administration.
- Hands-on experience with Informatica administration.
- Solid Linux system administration skills.
- Familiarity with VMware infrastructure management.
- Experience working with container technologies such as Docker and/or Kubernetes.
- Skilled in Git and CI/CD integration for DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of IAM and PAM integration within enterprise environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and operational support experience for complex infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills

- Understanding of data lakehouse architecture principles.
- Experience with enterprise security architecture and implementations.
- Ability to perform performance tuning and capacity planning for large-scale platforms.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Prior experience working in highly secured enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and backup strategy implementation.
