Postman Specialist

In this hourly, remote contractor position, you will serve as a Postman Specialist (Subject Matter Expert) responsible for designing and executing realistic, challenging API testing tasks using Postman and related workflows. Your role involves creating practical Postman tasks, thoroughly documenting them in SuperAnnotate, ensuring your technical setup supports the task requirements, and recording yourself performing these tasks on your computer. These activities contribute to training advanced AI models by demonstrating how real users approach API testing and developer-tool workflows.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop realistic and challenging Postman tasks that can be executed on a computer, then document these tasks clearly within SuperAnnotate.
- Prepare your work environment by ensuring Postman is installed or accessible, test APIs are available, sample payloads are ready, environments are configured, and all necessary references are at hand before recording.
- Record yourself executing the Postman tasks, following project instructions carefully to ensure workflows are clear, complete, realistic, and secure.
- Provide comprehensive task context including steps, goals, endpoints, payloads, files, and notes to help reviewers fully understand the task and its completion.
- Demonstrate practical use of Postman features such as creating API requests, configuring headers, parameters, authentication, environments, collections, variables, test scripts, response validation, documentation, mock APIs, import/export workflows, and troubleshooting API errors.
- Review your recordings and documentation before submission to guarantee that tasks are complete, understandable, safe, and aligned with project guidelines.

Required Qualifications
- Proven hands-on experience using Postman for API requests, testing, collections, environments, variables, authentication, documentation, or debugging workflows.
- English language proficiency at B2 level or higher to accurately comprehend project instructions, document tasks clearly, and communicate effectively with the project team.
- Comfortable working with computers, developer tools, browser-based or desktop Postman applications, API documentation, and recording workflows.
- Ability to design realistic and challenging Postman tasks that reflect genuine API testing, quality assurance, backend, integration, automation, documentation, or developer workflows.
- Strong understanding of Postman fundamentals including HTTP methods, URLs, headers, query parameters, request bodies, status codes, variables, environments, collections, and authentication mechanisms.
- Capability to ensure your technical setup supports task execution, including safe handling of credentials or tokens, availability of test APIs, and preparation of sample payloads and references before recording.
- High attention to detail in task preparation, workflow execution, and quality assurance of recordings to ensure completeness, safety, and clarity.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to maintain consistent quality in a remote, hourly contractor role across different time zones.
