The Power House Manager will oversee the comprehensive management, operation, and maintenance of the power house facility. This role ensures a continuous and reliable power supply while optimizing operational efficiency, safety, regulatory compliance, and cost control. The manager will lead a team responsible for maintaining gas and diesel generators, solar systems, and associated electrical and mechanical equipment, driving performance improvements and sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of power house operations and maintenance, including gas/diesel generators, solar power systems, and related electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Lead, supervise, and develop the operations and maintenance team to ensure high performance and skill competency.
- Guarantee uninterrupted and reliable power supply to meet the facility’s operational demands.
- Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
- Oversee troubleshooting and resolution of faults in electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Monitor key performance indicators such as power generation output, fuel consumption, plant efficiency, and equipment reliability.
- Manage maintenance budgets, fuel procurement, spare parts inventory, vendor relationships, contractors, and overall operational costs.
- Coordinate major overhauls, planned shutdowns, emergency breakdowns, and equipment improvement projects to minimize downtime.
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, environmental (HSE), statutory, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of operations, maintenance activities, breakdowns, fuel usage, and energy generation.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring failures and implement effective corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and emergency response protocols, ensuring all employees meet competency and safety standards.
- Drive initiatives focused on energy efficiency, cost reduction, reliability enhancement, and continuous operational improvement.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive reports on plant performance, maintenance activities, and costs to senior management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 to 12 years of relevant experience in power house or power plant operations and maintenance, with significant exposure to managerial or leadership roles.
- Proven expertise in managing generators, solar power systems, electrical and mechanical systems, maintenance teams, vendor coordination, budgeting, and overall plant operations.
