This role involves leading the development and calibration of advanced hydraulic models, including both 1D and 2D simulations, for various water bodies such as rivers, canals, reservoirs, spillways, and floodplains. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive hydraulic analyses and flood risk assessments, supporting irrigation systems, water conveyance structures, and flood protection projects. This position requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with international engineering standards throughout all project phases.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the creation and refinement of hydraulic models to simulate riverine and floodplain dynamics accurately. Perform flood routing, inundation mapping, sediment transport analysis, and river morphology studies to support project objectives. Conduct detailed hydraulic evaluations for irrigation infrastructure, water conveyance systems, and flood defense works. Review and validate hydrological data inputs, integrating these with hydraulic modeling outputs to ensure consistency and reliability. Prepare comprehensive technical reports, design criteria, and documentation related to hydraulic modeling activities. Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams across various disciplines. Support feasibility assessments, detailed engineering design stages, and provide technical services during construction phases. Coordinate effectively with clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to address hydraulic engineering concerns and ensure project alignment. Maintain strict adherence to international engineering standards and project-specific requirements to guarantee quality and compliance.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Hydraulic Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or Civil Engineering from a recognized university accredited by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). A minimum of 15 to 20 years of professional experience in hydraulic modeling and water resources engineering projects. Demonstrated expertise in major projects involving irrigation systems, river engineering, dams, hydropower facilities, flood management, or water infrastructure development. Strong understanding of hydraulic principles, flood risk assessment methodologies, and water resources planning. Proven leadership skills with experience managing technical teams and delivering complex project outcomes on time and within scope.
There are no additional preferred qualifications or benefits explicitly mentioned for this role. However, candidates with extensive project management experience and a track record of successful stakeholder engagement will be well-positioned to excel in this position.
