Siflex Pvt Ltd, located in Korangi Creek Industrial Park, Karachi, is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Pre-Press Designer to join its production team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in the flexible packaging industry, with a particular focus on Gravure and Flexo printing processes. This role involves preparing digital artwork that meets precise technical standards, ensuring flawless readiness for cylinder engraving and plate making.
Key Responsibilities
- File Preparation: Manage color separation, trapping, overprinting, and image retouching tailored for Gravure and Flexo printing techniques.
- Technical Optimization: Modify layouts considering cylinder circumference, gear pitch, and distortion factors unique to flexible substrates to ensure accurate print results.
- Quality Control: Conduct thorough reviews of final artwork against customer specifications to guarantee 100% accuracy before proceeding to cylinder or plate production.
- Coordination: Collaborate closely with the production department and external vendors to ensure timely delivery of printing tools and materials.
- Troubleshooting: Detect and resolve potential printing issues during the design phase to reduce material wastage and avoid delays on the production floor.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: A minimum of 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience working in the Pre-Press department within a flexible packaging company.
- Software Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator and Photoshop, is essential.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Gravure cylinder specifications and Flexographic plate mounting and processing techniques.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to identify minor errors in typography, color codes, and barcodes to maintain high-quality standards.
