ACME One is seeking a Principal Software Engineer with extensive experience in .NET, Microsoft Azure, enterprise systems, and modern AI technologies. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with a strong understanding of business needs, client communication, and architectural design. The ideal candidate will have proven production-level development experience and the ability to lead complex projects while collaborating closely with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical architecture and engineering decisions for complex enterprise applications, ensuring scalable and secure solutions.
- Translate business requirements and domain logic into effective technical designs and implementations.
- Collaborate directly with clients and senior stakeholders to gather requirements and clearly communicate technical approaches.
- Design and develop software solutions using .NET / .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, and SQL databases.
- Architect cloud and hybrid solutions on Microsoft Azure, covering networking, security, APIs, integrations, messaging, and deployment infrastructure.
- Design, implement, and support Azure-based enterprise and intranet environments.
- Drive the modernization of legacy .NET systems, monolithic applications, and other business-critical enterprise software.
- Maintain a hands-on role in coding, debugging, conducting code reviews, developing proofs of concept, and resolving critical production issues.
- Mentor engineering teams by providing technical guidance, setting engineering standards, and fostering best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience, including roles at Lead, Staff, Architect, or Principal levels.
- Strong hands-on expertise in .NET technologies, including ASP.NET Core, REST API development, and SQL.
- Proven experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and cloud architecture design.
- Demonstrated ability to modernize legacy systems and integrate enterprise applications.
- Deep understanding of system design principles, domain modeling, security protocols, authentication, authorization, and enterprise workflow management.
- Experience working with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), preferably involving Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Foundry, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents, or AI APIs.
- Excellent debugging, problem-solving, communication, and client management skills.
