A leading North American tech startup specializing in all-in-one transportation management software for K-12 school districts is seeking a dynamic Business Operations professional. This role is highly cross-functional, working closely with Product and Engineering, Customer Experience, and Go-to-Market teams. The nature of the work evolves each quarter, ranging from managing product initiatives to redesigning customer experience processes and training teams. The company values an AI-first approach, encouraging the use of AI tools to research, draft, analyze, build, and test solutions, enabling one individual to achieve what previously required a team. Candidates will start by mastering manual processes before automating and delegating them to relevant teams. This position offers significant responsibility early on, providing exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to own critical business challenges, making it ideal for professionals looking to accelerate their careers in a fast-growing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end problem ownership: Lead ambiguous, cross-functional challenges from diagnosis through to implementation and measurement. Examples include improving time-to-go-live, understanding margin by customer type, and resolving Sales and Engineering alignment issues on definitions such as “ready.”
- Operating mechanisms: Design and implement team cadences, ownership structures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and decision rules. Continuously reduce manual workload by introducing tooling, automation, and AI-driven agents.
- Special projects: Take ownership of quarterly priorities that lack existing owners or established playbooks, adapting quickly to shifting business needs.
Required Qualifications
- 2 to 4 years of professional experience, ideally in management consulting, investment banking, or business operations within a SaaS environment.
- Proven AI-first mindset with hands-on experience using AI tools such as Claude Code to enhance research, analysis, drafting, and solution building.
- Strong analytical and structured thinking skills, capable of breaking down vague problems into frameworks and measuring outcomes quantitatively. Advanced Excel modeling skills are essential.
- Systems thinker with the ability to view the business as an interconnected machine, anticipating second-order effects before implementing changes.
- Excellent communication skills with executive presence; able to convey ideas concisely, credibly, and in a structured manner to senior stakeholders. Superior written English proficiency is required.
- Availability to work hours that fully overlap with Eastern Time.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- High energy and drive, with a passion for continuous self-improvement and thriving in a team of talented, motivated professionals.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility.
- Ambitious mindset, eager to exceed expectations, take on additional responsibilities, and grow alongside the company.
