We are seeking a Procurement Manager with a strong focus on commercial and order execution for steel projects. The ideal candidate will lead the procurement and coordination team, ensuring accuracy in quotations, timely follow-ups, and effective vendor management. This role requires close collaboration with design and engineering teams to align material requirements with project specifications. The successful candidate will oversee costing, proposals, and purchase order negotiations, ensuring all commercial and technical aspects are thoroughly reviewed before execution. Additionally, the role involves tracking production progress and delivery schedules, managing vendor prequalifications, and maintaining strong supply chain relationships to support ongoing and upcoming industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the internal procurement and coordination team, driving daily follow-ups, ensuring quotation accuracy, and maintaining vendor responsiveness.
- Review project scope requirements and coordinate directly with Design and Engineering teams to confirm material weights, quantities, and site specifications.
- Oversee rate analyses, job costing, and commercial proposals within the ERP system, securing management approval on margins and project budgets.
- Audit Purchase Orders line-by-line against submitted quotations to identify and resolve any commercial or technical discrepancies before order execution.
- Coordinate with Production and Fabrication teams by handing off approved Purchase Orders and monitoring progress to ensure delivery timelines are met.
- Manage vendor and contractor prequalification processes, build and maintain strong supply chain and contractor relationships, and track upcoming industrial project tenders.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in procurement management, estimation, or commercial operations within steel structures, pre-engineered buildings (PEB), or heavy industrial construction.
- Strong technical understanding with the ability to read structural drawings, evaluate weight-based pricing, and comprehend project execution cycles.
- Proven experience in managing and motivating an internal procurement or coordination team to achieve performance targets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP software platforms.
