Procurement Manager

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Procurement Manager with at least 8 years of relevant experience in the FMCG retail grocery industry. The ideal candidate will oversee procurement operations, build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiate competitive pricing, and ensure consistent product availability. This role requires optimizing purchasing costs while maintaining high product quality and profitability. The Procurement Manager will work closely with various internal teams to align procurement strategies with business goals and drive operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement procurement strategies that support overall business objectives.
- Manage the purchasing process for grocery, FMCG, fresh, frozen, and other retail products.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, distributors, and manufacturers to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure timely deliveries and consistent product availability.
- Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, product demand, and seasonal purchasing needs.
- Collaborate with sales, inventory, warehouse, and branch operations teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Prevent overstocking, stockouts, product expiry, and unnecessary purchasing costs.
- Track supplier performance, product quality, shelf life, and compliance with company standards.
- Analyze procurement budgets, purchasing costs, profit margins, and supplier payment terms.
- Ensure accurate documentation including purchase orders, quotations, and procurement records.
- Develop procurement policies, standard operating procedures, and prepare performance reports for management review.
- Lead, supervise, and develop the procurement team to enhance efficiency and accountability.

Required Qualifications

- Master’s degree or relevant qualification is mandatory.
- Minimum of 8 years of procurement experience specifically within the FMCG retail grocery sector.
- Proven expertise in grocery purchasing, supplier negotiations, vendor management, and inventory planning.
- Strong understanding of FMCG products, retail pricing structures, profit margins, promotional activities, and product shelf life management.
- Proficient in ERP systems, inventory management software, and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of procurement controls, cost optimization techniques, and supply chain coordination.
