Based in Sukkur, Sindh, this role focuses on managing the procurement of fresh fruits and vegetables to meet business demands. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing from reliable suppliers, negotiating competitive prices, and ensuring the quality and freshness of products. Maintaining timely availability while minimizing wastage and procurement-related losses is essential. Close coordination with internal teams and suppliers will be required to support smooth operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage daily procurement activities for fresh fruits and vegetables from local markets, farmers, wholesalers, and approved suppliers.
- Identify and develop a network of reliable suppliers to ensure consistent product availability, quality, and competitive pricing.
- Conduct regular market visits and price surveys to stay updated on market trends, seasonal changes, and price fluctuations.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions with suppliers.
- Inspect products for quality, freshness, size, grade, quantity, and condition before purchase and delivery.
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand daily and forecasted procurement requirements.
- Prepare purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
- Monitor supplier performance regarding quality, pricing, delivery, and compliance with agreed specifications.
- Coordinate with warehouse, store, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and proper handling of fresh produce.
- Minimize product wastage, rejection, spoilage, and procurement-related losses through effective management.
- Maintain updated records of supplier quotations, market rates, purchase prices, and procurement history.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, approved budgets, and procurement procedures.
- Develop alternative suppliers and sourcing channels to reduce supply risks.
- Prepare regular reports on purchase quantities, prices, supplier performance, market trends, and cost savings.
- Perform any other procurement-related duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Agriculture, Commerce, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within fruits and vegetables, fresh foods, FMCG, retail, supermarket, agriculture, or food distribution sectors.
- Strong knowledge of the local fruit and vegetable markets and supplier networks in Sukkur and surrounding areas is preferred.
- Excellent negotiation, vendor management, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to assess the quality and freshness of fruits and vegetables effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, for reporting and data management.
- Willingness to conduct frequent market visits and work in a dynamic procurement environment.
- Candidate must be willing to be based in Sukkur.

Compensation

The position offers a monthly salary ranging from Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 70,000.
