Lookflock is an early-stage startup focused on transforming how people make fashion decisions. We believe that choosing what to buy should be a confident, social, and human experience—not just a process driven by algorithms and endless scrolling. Our platform helps users discover fashion, save favorites, involve trusted friends, and decide what to purchase, with the actual transaction happening elsewhere. As we continue to explore product-market fit, we are looking for a designer who thrives in a dynamic environment where user feedback directly shapes the product’s evolution.
Key Responsibilities
You will collaborate closely with the founder and development team, participating in user interviews and observing real users interact with the product you help design. Your role will involve:
- Identifying usability issues uncovered during user research.
- Questioning existing ideas and proposing simpler, more effective solutions.
- Transforming rough concepts and early sketches into polished Figma designs for both mobile and desktop platforms.
- Enhancing visual hierarchy, spacing, typography, and overall consistency.
- Creating reusable components and design variants.
- Designing for various states including empty, loading, success, error, and edge cases.
- Preparing clear, developer-friendly design specifications.
- Reviewing implemented screens to ensure fidelity to designs and iterating based on real-world feedback.
- Adapting your designs when evidence shows a need for change.
Required Qualifications
We welcome final-year students, recent graduates, and junior designers who are eager to grow. Essential qualities include:
- Genuine curiosity about user behavior and motivations.
- A strong focus on solving user problems, not just creating visually appealing designs.
- Openness to having your ideas challenged by users and team members.
- Confidence to suggest improvements and alternative approaches.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Figma, including Auto Layout, components, and variants.
- Basic understanding of mobile and responsive design principles.
- Ability to clearly articulate the rationale behind your design decisions.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with developers and leadership.
- Dependability and discipline when working remotely.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience with consumer-facing products, social platforms, fashion-related apps, or design systems is a plus but not required. This role offers the opportunity to shape a product from the ground up in a startup environment where adaptability and learning from users are key. You will gain hands-on experience in user-centered design and product development, working directly with leadership and real users.
This position is not suited for those seeking a traditional design role with fixed requirements, mature design systems, or long-term roadmaps. Instead, it is ideal for someone excited by rapid iteration, uncertainty, and the challenge of defining what a product should become based on continuous user insights.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a design exercise focused on a current Lookflock challenge. We value your thought process, decision-making, and ability to explain your reasoning more than a flawless final design.
To apply, please submit your portfolio or examples of your Figma work, your availability, and responses to the following:
1. Share one product screen you designed and briefly explain the problem it aimed to solve.
2. Describe a product or app you use regularly that you believe has poor user experience. What would you change and why?
3. After reading about Lookflock, tell us in a few sentences what about the problem we are addressing interests you personally.
We look forward to hearing from designers who are passionate about creating meaningful, user-driven experiences in fashion technology.
