This role is responsible for leading the end-to-end development, enhancement, and lifecycle management of assigned Islamic financial products, including financing and deposit offerings. The incumbent will execute product strategy, develop business cases, plan roadmaps, and ensure alignment with Shariah and regulatory requirements. They will translate approved Islamic product structures into detailed documentation and system requirements, coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), support business adoption, and leverage market and performance insights to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Portfolio Ownership: Manage assigned Islamic lending and deposit product portfolios, maintaining product roadmaps that align with the bank’s strategic objectives, customer needs, and market opportunities within Islamic banking.

Islamic Product Development & Revamp: Lead the full lifecycle of product development, from ideation through design, approval, implementation, and post-launch evaluation.

Business Cases & Product Economics: Prepare comprehensive business cases addressing customer propositions, market potential, expected volumes, pricing, costs, operational feasibility, risks, and anticipated business impact.

Islamic Product Structuring & Documentation: Convert approved Islamic product structures into clear product manuals, business requirement documents (BRDs), process flows, customer and internal documentation, and contractual references.

Shariah Coordination & Governance: Collaborate with the Shariah function and other stakeholders to ensure product structures, documentation, and implementation comply with Shariah principles and internal governance standards.

Cross-Functional Delivery: Work closely with Business, Credit, Operations, Finance, Risk, Compliance, IT, Digital, Legal, and other teams to ensure timely product implementation and resolution of related issues.

Systems & Technology Enablement: Partner with technology and tools teams to define practical and measurable system requirements aligned with product design.

UAT & Launch Readiness: Support enablement teams in coordinating business-side UAT, defect resolution, readiness assessments, training, and go-live activities for product and system changes.

Product Performance & Analytics: Monitor product performance using KPIs, portfolio trends, customer and branch feedback, and business analysis to identify gaps and recommend improvements.

Pricing, Charges & Financial Coordination: Liaise with Finance and relevant stakeholders to ensure profit parameters, fees, and charges align with approved Islamic product structures and bank policies.

Market Intelligence & Customer Insights: Track Islamic banking market trends, competitor offerings, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities and product enhancements.

Training & Business Enablement: Coordinate product and Shariah-related training and communications to ensure effective understanding, positioning, process adherence, and adoption.

Governance, Regulatory & Post-Launch Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory, internal, and Shariah governance requirements; maintain approvals and documentation; and drive post-launch stabilization and enhancements.

Management Reporting: Provide regular updates to management on product development, implementation status, performance, risks, and action plans.

Required Qualifications

- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Islamic Finance, Economics, Commerce, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience, preferably in Islamic product development or management within banking or financial services.
- Hands-on experience with Islamic financial products, particularly financing and/or deposit products.
- Strong understanding of Islamic banking concepts, contracts, structures, and product governance.
- Proficiency in product documentation, BRDs, process flows, and UAT coordination for banking or system changes.
- Exposure to core banking systems and loan origination platforms; experience with Temenos T24 and FOS is advantageous.
- Strong skills in MS Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; analytical and data skills are a plus.
