The Product Manager – Retail Deposits will support the Head of Product in driving the strategic objectives of the Retail Liabilities business by managing and expanding the bank’s deposit products portfolio. This role is responsible for executing product strategies, enhancing portfolio performance and profitability, and delivering compelling customer value propositions across current accounts, savings accounts, and term deposits. The position involves leading strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects aimed at improving customer experience, market competitiveness, operational efficiency, and supporting the department’s funding and business goals. This is a full-time remote role aligned with organizational office hours, reporting directly to the Vice President – Product and Proposition.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Product & Proposition in executing the Retail Liabilities strategy and achieving business and portfolio objectives.
- Monitor portfolio performance, profitability, customer behavior, and market trends to identify growth opportunities and recommend actionable strategies.
- Develop and implement product enhancements, pricing strategies, and customer value propositions focused on acquisition, retention, and balance growth with a digital-first approach.
- Lead and deliver strategic initiatives, product launches, digitization programs, and transformation projects successfully.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders across business units including technology, operations, risk, finance, compliance, and marketing to ensure seamless execution.
- Utilize data analytics and customer insights to optimize product performance and support data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, governance, and risk management standards.
- Contribute to achieving balance sheet growth, funding targets, revenue goals, and customer expansion while enhancing overall portfolio value.
- Drive customer engagement programs, tactical promotions, and events to increase client interaction and satisfaction.
- Interface regularly with distribution channels, relationship managers, alternate channels, operations, legal, compliance, and business intelligence units.
- Maintain audit readiness and proactively identify and escalate risks as per organizational processes.
- Conduct ongoing market intelligence to inform strategy and competitive positioning.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in banking, wealth management, or product management, including at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of banking product management, particularly deposit and liability products; experience in digital banking environments is advantageous.
- Graduate or equivalent professional qualification from a recognized institution.
- Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the capability to identify growth opportunities and develop data-driven insights.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and continuously improve customer experience and service delivery across multiple channels.
