The Product Testing & Development Officer at ACE Money Transfer, based in Lahore, Punjab, is a vital member of the Payment Operations Testing Pod. This role is responsible for ensuring that all system and product changes across payment operations—including payout, processing, gateways, and reconciliation—are rigorously tested before and during go-live. Acting as the primary Operations liaison with IT and PMO teams, the officer drives issue resolution toward permanent development fixes rather than temporary solutions. By managing a centralized tracker for testing activities, development requests, and issue resolutions, this position provides continuous visibility of Payment Operations’ status to management.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end testing for all new products, corridors, partner/gateway changes, and system releases across Payment Operations, without limitation to any specific function.
- Design and execute detailed test cases covering normal workflows, edge cases, failure scenarios, and rollback conditions to ensure comprehensive validation beyond standard use cases.
- Validate changes in environments that closely simulate live conditions before providing sign-off, and have the authority to block go-live if testing is incomplete or results are inconclusive.
- Monitor systems post-go-live during the stabilization period to detect issues that arise under real transaction volumes.
- Maintain standardized testing checklists and SOPs tailored to different change types such as payout, processing, gateway, and reconciliation, ensuring consistency and repeatability.
- Serve as the sole Operations counterpart to IT and PMO teams for all system development and product build discussions within Payment Operations.
- Review requirements and technical specifications from an operational feasibility standpoint before development begins, regardless of which Operations team initiates the request.
- Raise, prioritize, and track development tickets with IT and PMO on behalf of Processing and Payout teams.
- Participate actively in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and release cycles, providing sign-off on behalf of Operations and verifying fixes rather than accepting closure solely based on IT confirmation.
- Act as the intake point for recurring or unresolved issues escalated by Processing and Payout teams.
- Diagnose issues to determine whether they are isolated incidents, process gaps, or system defects and route them accordingly.
- Manage the entire resolution process for issues requiring development fixes, from ticket creation to fix verification and closure confirmation.
- Update testing checklists to incorporate recurring issue patterns, preventing repeat defects in production.
- Maintain a single, up-to-date tracker encompassing all testing activities, development requests, and issue resolutions, including status, ownership, age, and next steps.
- Provide regular status updates to the Team Lead according to a defined schedule.
- Proactively flag risks related to missing go-live dates or SLAs, offering clear explanations and recommended mitigation actions.
- Keep version-controlled records of test cases, sign-offs, and known issues for audit and handover purposes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in quality assurance/testing, product or business analysis, or payout/payment operations.
- Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles is highly desirable.
- Ability to interpret requirements and technical specifications and translate them into detailed test scenarios.
- Strong attention to detail with a structured approach, capable of following checklists thoroughly under time constraints.
- Confidence in coordinating with IT and PMO teams and making go/no-go decisions based on testing completeness.
- Proficiency in Excel and strong discipline in maintaining trackers and documentation.
