Project Management Support Specialist

This role offers a valuable opportunity to support the development and successful delivery of critical infrastructure projects within the UN system. As a Project Management Support Specialist, you will play a key role in bridging resource gaps and facilitating project implementation, directly enhancing the operational efficiency and strategic goals of the office. Working closely with project teams, you will ensure smooth coordination, monitoring, and reporting aligned with UNOPS policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive project management support across multiple ongoing projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and project plans.
- Assist the Project Management Infrastructure Support Specialist in coordinating activities, managing resources, and maintaining effective information flow.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among internal teams, partners, and beneficiaries to promote project success.
- Support the preparation, review, and maintenance of project documentation, including work plans, progress reports, and financial statements.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies.
- Prepare regular status reports highlighting achievements, challenges, and next steps for management and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with UNOPS policies, procedures, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in budget development aligned with planned activities and support the organization of project review meetings, following up on action points.
- Contribute to the development of technical proposals by drafting sections, preparing budgets, and coordinating with technical experts, ensuring alignment with UNOPS guidelines and client requirements.
- Support proposal submissions and engage with clients to address queries and feedback.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including UN agencies, government partners, and other organizations.
- Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather input and feedback from stakeholders, representing UNOPS at relevant forums to promote project activities and partnerships.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and contribute to knowledge management tools and resources.
- Prepare regular progress updates and reports for management review.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in project management, project assessment, or a related field.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

- Master’s degree or equivalent in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with UN agencies or international organizations.
- Background in infrastructure or construction projects is highly desirable.
