Project Manager - Data

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager specializing in data projects within the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain. The ideal candidate will have 12 to 15 years of project management experience, with strong expertise in data engineering, Databricks, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and end-to-end project delivery. This role involves leading cross-functional technical teams, managing project governance, and ensuring the successful execution of data initiatives. The position is based in Hyderabad and requires a deep understanding of insurance processes alongside technical leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage data projects from initiation through delivery and closure, ensuring alignment with business goals. Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily Scrum calls, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Coordinate teams including Databricks engineers, data analysts, and data modelers to drive project progress. Maintain and update Azure DevOps boards with accurate work items, user stories, sprint assignments, and dependencies. Define project scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables in collaboration with technical teams. Drive project execution using Agile/Scrum practices, ensuring timely delivery within scope and quality standards. Provide technical guidance on data engineering, architecture, modeling, and Databricks solutions. Monitor project risks, issues, dependencies, and blockers, and take proactive steps to resolve them. Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and stakeholders to maintain alignment. Track sprint commitments, team capacity, velocity, and delivery metrics. Communicate project status, risks, and key decisions to leadership and stakeholders. Support teams in overcoming technical and functional challenges, fostering cross-team collaboration. Ensure adherence to project governance, documentation, and quality standards. Manage multiple priorities and workstreams while focusing on business outcomes. Contribute to continuous improvement of delivery processes and Agile practices.

Required Qualifications
12–15 years of project management experience, preferably within the P&C insurance industry. Proven track record in managing data projects and delivering end-to-end solutions. Strong knowledge of data engineering, data architecture, data modeling, and Databricks platform. Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and facilitating Scrum ceremonies. Skilled in managing cross-functional data teams and coordinating diverse technical resources. Proficient in using Azure DevOps for project tracking and management. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Solid understanding of insurance industry processes, regulations, and market trends. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field. Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, or Scrum Master are preferred.
