The Manager – Projects will oversee the complete execution, resource allocation, and financial management of low-voltage life safety and fire detection system installations. Acting as a critical link between senior project management, design teams, site engineers, and regulatory bodies, this role ensures that fire safety systems are commissioned on schedule, within budget, and fully compliant with all relevant codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution & Lifecycle Management: Plan, schedule, and monitor all key project milestones from design handover to final site completion, ensuring smooth progress throughout the project lifecycle.

Technical & Design Review: Verify shop drawings, cause-and-effect matrices, battery calculations, and technical submittals to confirm design feasibility prior to site installation.

Regulatory Compliance & Approvals: Work closely with clients, consultants, and fire alarm authorities to ensure all engineering work adheres to NFPA 72 standards and local life safety regulations.

Financial Oversight & Budgeting: Track project expenditures, manage procurement logs, monitor resource utilization, and assist in identifying variation orders to avoid budget overruns.

Team & Subcontractor Coordination: Lead cross-functional teams, manage site engineers and electrical subcontractors, and resolve complex site challenges efficiently.

Site Surveys & Validation: Conduct and supervise comprehensive site surveys to assess physical field conditions, verify technical dimensions, and ensure alignment between design specifications and actual site conditions.

Testing, Commissioning & Handover: Oversee pre-commissioning checks, panel programming, networking, and final integrated testing to guarantee smooth handover to authorities.

Progress Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, track change requests, and provide regular progress updates to senior management.

In addition to managing the overall project, the Project Engineer role focuses on the technical design, installation, and testing of fire detection systems. This position ensures all site engineering activities comply strictly with NFPA standards, safety regulations, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Site Survey: Conduct thorough site surveys to evaluate physical conditions, verify technical measurements, and align design specifications with real-world site requirements.

System Design & Review: Review fire alarm shop drawings, matrix of operations (cause-and-effect), and technical submittals to ensure system accuracy.

Site Execution: Supervise the installation, wiring, and integration of fire alarm panels, detectors, and devices with other MEP systems.

Testing & Commissioning: Lead pre-commissioning checks, programming, and final testing required by the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) for system certification.

Coordination: Liaise with clients, electrical subcontractors, and safety inspectors to promptly address and resolve site issues.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience managing low-voltage life safety and fire detection system projects.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 72 and local fire safety codes.
- Expertise in project scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
- Ability to review technical drawings, cause-and-effect matrices, and battery calculations.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating subcontractors.
- Competence in conducting site surveys and validating design specifications.
- Skilled in testing, commissioning, and final system handover procedures.
- Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with clients and regulatory authorities.
