The Security Associate plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure campus environment by actively monitoring safety operations, responding to emergencies, and ensuring vigilance through surveillance and reporting. This position requires a strong sense of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality while performing all security-related duties to uphold campus safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Campus Safety & Security Monitoring: Maintain a visible presence across assigned areas to enforce campus safety and compliance with security policies. Monitor CCTV and access control systems, promptly report suspicious activities, and coordinate with the control room for timely responses. Assist in managing campus entry and exit procedures, parking regulations, and visitor protocols.

Emergency Preparedness & Response: React swiftly to emergencies such as fire, medical incidents, and security threats, ensuring effective implementation of safety measures. Support evacuation drills, emergency exercises, and subsequent investigations. Collaborate with rescue services, law enforcement, and internal departments during critical situations.

Operational Accountability: Keep accurate logs, reports, and incident records following prescribed formats. Ensure responsibility in duty performance, attendance, and handling of equipment including radios, keys, and surveillance tools. Immediately report any malfunctioning security equipment or systems to supervisors.

Operational Support and Liaison: Provide assistance to faculty, staff, students, and visitors in line with campus safety procedures. Support departmental events, VIP movements, and student activities through proper coordination and crowd management. Liaise with relevant departments to maintain smooth operations and safety compliance.

Confidentiality & Privacy: Safeguard confidentiality concerning all security operations, incidents, and sensitive information. Protect personal and institutional data in all aspects of the role.

Safety, Security, and Surveillance: Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to detect and prevent security breaches. Assist in surveillance and control of restricted zones. Support lost-and-found management by ensuring proper recording and handling of items.

Travel may be required. The standard work schedule is from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional extensions into evenings and weekends to accommodate workload and event requirements.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an HEC-recognized university is preferred.

Strong observation and reporting skills, familiarity with security systems such as CCTV and access control, and excellent communication abilities are essential.
