We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Purchase Officer to oversee procurement and sourcing activities within our organization. This role requires managing supplier development, evaluating quotations, negotiating prices, conducting cost comparisons, and coordinating with various internal departments to ensure the timely availability of essential raw materials. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining smooth production operations by aligning procurement efforts with inventory and production plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers for strategic raw materials to ensure quality and consistency.
- Obtain and assess quotations based on price, quality, specifications, payment terms, and delivery lead times.
- Prepare detailed cost comparisons and analyze price variations to support informed decision-making.
- Negotiate competitive prices and commercial terms with suppliers to optimize procurement costs.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Planning, Store, and Finance departments to align procurement activities with operational needs.
- Ensure procurement aligns with production schedules and inventory requirements to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Escalate any potential supply shortages, price increases, or supply risks promptly to relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare comprehensive sourcing, costing, savings, and supplier performance reports to track procurement effectiveness.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and approval procedures.
- Maintain complete and transparent procurement documentation for audit and review purposes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing, or Procurement.
- Strong negotiation and costing skills with a proven ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
- Good understanding of raw material markets and supplier management practices.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems to manage procurement data and reporting.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skills to work effectively across departments.
Compensation and Work Location
The position offers a competitive salary of up to Rs 55,000 per month. The role requires the candidate to work on-site, ensuring close collaboration with internal teams and suppliers.
