Python Developer

O16 Labs is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with extensive experience in backend development to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and scaling high-performance backend systems using Python and modern cloud technologies. This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale systems and lead backend modernization projects in a collaborative environment focused on engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services primarily using Python, Django, and FastAPI.
- Lead the migration of existing Node.js applications to Python-based frameworks.
- Architect and implement RESTful APIs with strong emphasis on performance and security.
- Optimize SQL queries and manage databases using PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQLAlchemy.
- Utilize cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP to deploy and maintain backend infrastructure.
- Implement containerization and orchestration tools including Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with caching and search technologies like Redis and Elasticsearch to enhance system performance.
- Develop event-driven systems and manage data processing workflows.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of backend solutions.

Required Qualifications
- 8 to 12 years of overall software development experience, with a minimum of 5 years focused on backend engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Django, and FastAPI frameworks.
- Proven experience migrating applications from Node.js to Python.
- Solid understanding of Pydantic, REST API design, and system architecture principles.
- Expertise in SQL optimization and hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQLAlchemy.
- Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS and GCP, along with containerization technologies like Docker.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and working with caching/search tools including Redis and Elasticsearch.
- Background in data processing, cloud databases, and event-driven architectures.
