Python Finance Developer (100% Remote Worldwide)

We are seeking a Finance Developer to join our team and contribute to building an internal web platform that supports portfolio management for our finance and operations departments. This role sits at the intersection of finance and technology, requiring you to transform financial data and business requirements into precise, dependable tools. You will take full ownership of features, from crafting data queries and calculation logic to developing the user interface.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain platform features such as summary metrics, interactive tables, and data visualizations.
- Translate financial methodologies—including valuation, P&L attribution, exposure, and cost basis—into clean, well-tested backend logic.
- Ensure all figures reconcile accurately with source systems and existing reports.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries against a cloud data warehouse.
- Maintain platform performance and reliability through caching, performance tuning, and robust error handling.
- Collaborate closely with finance and operations stakeholders to gather requirements, validate outputs, and implement improvements.

Required Qualifications
- Solid professional experience with Python, including building backend services or data applications.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts such as positions, P&L (daily, MTD, YTD, ITD), NAV, exposure, and cost basis.
- Proficiency in writing advanced SQL queries, ideally on BigQuery or other cloud-based data warehouses.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a strong habit of testing and reconciling financial data until fully accurate.
- Clear communication skills and confidence in challenging and clarifying requirements with finance teams.
- MSc in Finance or progress toward a professional qualification such as CFA or CAIA (Level I or above), or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Frontend development experience with React and TypeScript, particularly for data-intensive user interfaces.
- Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools or building analytics dashboards.
- Background in asset management, fund administration, treasury, or fintech sectors.
- Familiarity with multi-asset portfolios, including equities, fixed income, digital assets, and commodities.
- Experience working with Google Cloud infrastructure and implementing caching strategies.

Our technology stack includes Python, FastAPI, Pydantic, Google BigQuery, Redis on the backend, and React, TypeScript, Vite, TanStack Query, Recharts, and Tailwind CSS on the frontend. Infrastructure is hosted on Google Cloud (Cloud Run) with Google sign-in integration.
