We are seeking a skilled Test Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Python to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience writing clean, maintainable test code and a deep understanding of test automation frameworks and tools. This role involves developing and maintaining automated tests for APIs, databases, and containerized environments, ensuring high-quality software delivery through integration with CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Python, focusing on clean and maintainable code.
- Utilize pytest extensively, including fixtures, parameterization, plugins, markers, and conftest patterns to build robust test suites.
- Perform API testing using libraries such as requests or httpx, validating REST and GraphQL endpoints, including handling authentication and token management within test flows.
- Conduct database testing by writing and validating SQL queries and performing data integrity checks on PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar relational database management systems.
- Implement mocking and isolation techniques using libraries like unittest.mock, responses, and moto (for AWS services) to simulate external dependencies.
- Work with containerized test environments using Docker and Docker Compose to ensure consistent and isolated test execution.
- Integrate automated tests within CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions, maintaining test stages and ensuring smooth deployment workflows.
- Leverage AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot or Amazon Q to generate, refactor, and optimize test automation code efficiently.

Required Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in Python programming with a focus on test automation.
- Extensive experience with pytest framework and its advanced features.
- Solid understanding of API testing methodologies, including REST and GraphQL.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Familiarity with mocking libraries and techniques for isolating test environments.
- Practical knowledge of containerization technologies, specifically Docker and Docker Compose.
- Experience integrating automated tests within CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
- Ability to effectively use AI-powered coding tools to enhance productivity in test automation.
