QA Automation Engineer

Nevka Systems is looking for a skilled QA Automation Engineer to join their team specializing in banking and fintech software. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and executing tests across web applications, APIs, and complex financial workflows. Your work will involve building automated test suites to ensure consistent coverage and working closely with product and engineering teams throughout development and release cycles. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in banking, payments, or fintech environments, with a strong ability to investigate defects impacting transactions, balances, and customer records.

Key Responsibilities
Review business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to identify gaps in test coverage and clarify expected outcomes with product and engineering teams. Create and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, test data, and traceability matrices for new features and releases. Develop and sustain automated UI and API tests using frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress, utilizing JavaScript, Java, or Python. Test REST APIs with a focus on authentication, permissions, request/response validation, error handling, retries, idempotency, and webhook behavior. Validate end-to-end financial workflows including onboarding, KYC processes, account or wallet funding, beneficiary setup, transfers, fees, foreign exchange, refunds, transaction status, statements, and reconciliation. Use SQL and database queries to verify transaction records, balances, statuses, and audit data against expected results. Execute functional, integration, smoke, regression, and user acceptance testing across various browsers, devices, and environments. Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines, report clear and reproducible defects in Jira, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues efficiently. Communicate test progress, risks, and release findings to stakeholders and maintain thorough test evidence for audits and reviews.

Required Qualifications
Proven experience in software QA with direct involvement in testing banking, payments, or fintech products. Strong skills in creating and maintaining automated tests for web applications and APIs. Proficiency in at least one automation programming language such as JavaScript, Java, or Python. Experience testing REST APIs using tools like Postman, Newman, or REST Assured. Ability to write and execute SQL queries to analyze data within relational databases. Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, defect lifecycle management, test environments, version control systems, and basic CI/CD concepts. Excellent written communication skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, analysts, developers, and fellow QA professionals.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Experience
Familiarity with financial workflows where transaction status, fees, balances, and records require strict consistency, including digital banking, remittance, payment processing, wallets, ledgers, foreign exchange, settlement, and reconciliation processes. Knowledge of KYC and compliance-related procedures. Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6. Basic understanding of security testing principles, including OWASP guidelines and protection of personal or financial data. Experience testing integrations with external banking, identity verification, payment, or notification providers is a plus.
