Fleetlery is a last-mile delivery service operating in Berlin, primarily using bike couriers to deliver orders for restaurants, retailers, and delivery marketplaces. We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our team on a full-time or freelance basis. This is a 100% remote position, and the successful candidate will start as soon as possible. The role requires strong English communication skills and the willingness to work during German office hours (CET).
Key Responsibilities
- Test the courier app thoroughly, covering functionalities such as login and invitations, accepting and running tours, pickup and delivery confirmation (including photo, PIN, and age checks), multi-stop tours, geofencing, push notifications, background GPS, and handling poor or no network conditions.
- Test the dispatcher dashboard, including order intake, assignment, live order and tour views, “needs attention” alerts, courier and fleet partner management, roles and permissions, pricing, and settings.
- Follow an order end to end, verifying that data is accurate at every stage—from partner order submission, dispatch, courier pickup, delivery or cancellation, to status updates sent back to the partner.
- Test APIs and webhooks using Postman or similar tools, focusing on scenarios such as rejected inputs, error responses, duplicate orders, status polling, and signed webhooks.
- Report bugs clearly and precisely, including steps to reproduce, expected versus actual results, device and OS details, screenshots or screen recordings, and severity levels.
- Assist with user acceptance testing and pilot phases by working closely with dispatchers and couriers, gathering feedback, and translating it into actionable tickets.
- Collaborate with engineers on developing the courier simulator and conducting load tests (e.g., simulating 200 active tours and 150 online couriers in one service area). Provide input on which workflows should be prioritized for automation.
- Ensure data protection compliance by monitoring the handling of courier and customer personal data, flagging any exposure of sensitive information or inappropriate access.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in manual QA testing for mobile apps (Android and iOS) and web applications.
- Proficient in testing APIs using tools like Postman, Insomnia, or curl, and comfortable reading JSON data.
- Experience writing comprehensive test plans, test cases, and regression suites.
- Ability to write clear, concise, and precise bug reports.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on edge cases such as time zones, slow networks, permissions, and concurrent record editing.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
- Willingness to work aligned with German office hours (CET).
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience with delivery, logistics, ride-hailing, or other location-based applications.
- Knowledge of testing background location services, push notifications, and offline modes.
- Basic SQL skills to query and verify data in databases.
- Familiarity with automation tools like Playwright or a strong interest in learning automation testing.
- Experience testing webhooks and signed requests (HMAC).
- Understanding of GDPR principles as they relate to personal data protection.
