QA Engineer, Release Testing

We are a product design studio based in Islamabad, collaborating with international clients on platform development projects. We are seeking our first dedicated Test Engineer to take full ownership of release testing for a live aviation platform, which is developed concurrently by multiple teams. This is a fully remote position open to candidates anywhere in Pakistan, with working hours from Monday to Friday starting at 3 PM Pakistan time.

Key Responsibilities

- Execute structured test protocols for new software releases exactly as written, following the specified order and respecting all gates and dependencies.
- Conduct thorough testing of every screen at both desktop and phone widths.
- Compare implemented screens against design files and report any discrepancies.
- Accurately capture evidence including exact error messages, console outputs, and full network requests and responses.
- Verify the absence of elements or behaviors that should not be present, documenting where checks were performed.
- Maintain a detailed run log for every test record created.
- Compile comprehensive test reports that include what passed initially, a count of issues, and findings grouped by ownership and ordered by severity.

Required Qualifications

- Two to four years of experience in manual software testing, specifically on web applications.
- Strong written English skills, with the ability to produce clear, actionable reports.
- High attention to detail in evidence collection, quoting exact error text rather than paraphrasing, and distinguishing observed facts from assumptions.
- Proficiency with browser developer tools such as the console, network tab, and viewport resizing.
- Ability to strictly follow written procedures and clearly communicate when a step cannot be completed rather than attempting workarounds.
- Willingness to report when no defects are found.
- Availability during working hours, participation in daily check-ins, and readiness to engage when releases occur. Candidates must have their own laptop, reliable internet connection, and power backup arrangements.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience testing against design files such as Figma.
- Familiarity with CRM-backed applications or webhook integrations.
- Experience writing test protocols in addition to executing them.

Additional Information

This role focuses exclusively on manual and exploratory testing. There is no involvement with automation frameworks, client communication, or production environment access, as testing is performed using test data only.
