Quality Assurance Automation Engineer (Voice AI)

Entropik Labs is seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer to take ownership of quality assurance for our AI-powered products across mobile, web, APIs, and backend services. This role goes beyond writing test cases—you will design test strategies, automate critical workflows, validate releases before deployment, and continuously monitor live systems. You will be the first responder when issues arise in production, ensuring that subtle failures such as stale data or incorrect database entries are quickly identified and resolved. We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive professional comfortable working across the entire software lifecycle, from requirement validation to incident triage.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and regression suites for mobile apps, APIs, backend services, and web applications using both manual and automated testing methods.
- Validate new features, bug fixes, and releases to ensure quality before deployment.
- Document and track test coverage, ensuring critical user journeys are regularly verified.
- Identify, document, and manage defects through to resolution.
- Build and maintain automated test suites for APIs, backend services, and end-to-end workflows, integrating these into CI/CD pipelines to run on every change.
- Reduce manual testing efforts by implementing effective automation where it adds value.
- Monitor test executions, investigate failures thoroughly, and avoid rerunning tests without root cause analysis.
- Test Android and iOS builds across multiple devices and environments, validate APIs and backend integrations, and perform functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing on web applications.
- Verify business workflows and data consistency across systems.
- Validate and re-verify releases post-deployment, monitor production systems through dashboards, logs, and alerts.
- Provide L1 and L2 support by triaging, investigating, reproducing, and escalating issues as needed.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify root causes and ensure incident closure.
- Conduct periodic health checks and synthetic tests to maintain system reliability.
- Maintain detailed documentation, including test execution records, defect reports, and release sign-off documentation.
- Produce weekly QA and production quality reports, tracking quality metrics, open defects, release readiness, and testing progress.
- Communicate clear status updates and actionable recommendations to stakeholders beyond simple dashboards.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of two years’ experience in software testing within a professional release cycle, covering both manual and automated testing.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing lifecycles, and the ability to discern what should be automated.
- Hands-on experience testing REST APIs using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or Insomnia.
- Proficiency with at least one automation framework such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Appium, Pytest, Robot Framework, or Katalon.
- Experience using issue tracking tools like Jira, ClickUp, or Azure DevOps with disciplined workflow management.
- Working knowledge of SQL for database verification.
- Comfortable working with Linux, Docker, and command-line interfaces to manage test environments independently.
- Experience with production monitoring and observability tools, including metrics, dashboards, log searching, alerting, synthetic checks, and incident triage.
- Strong written communication skills and the confidence to halt releases when quality evidence demands it.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience testing AI, large language models (LLM), voice AI, or conversational AI applications.
- Familiarity with load and performance testing tools such as JMeter, k6, or Locust.
- Mobile automation expertise using Appium.
- Knowledge of observability platforms like Grafana, Prometheus, ELK stack, Datadog, or Sentry.
- Exposure to telephony platforms, speech evaluation, or voice-based applications.
- Experience working in startup environments and participating in on-call or support rotations.

Success in this role will be demonstrated within the first three months by establishing and maintaining a reliable automated test suite, implementing effective test execution tracking and reporting, and owning QA sign-off for releases end to end. A measurable reduction in production defects due to thorough release validation and active participation in monitoring and incident triage will also indicate strong performance.
