Quality Assurance Engineer

This opportunity is with a leading technology company specializing in digital authentication solutions for the banking sector and consumer applications. The role is for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer based in Hyderabad, working on-site in a full-time capacity. The position requires a minimum of two years of experience and involves leading quality strategy, automation architecture, performance engineering, and security validation for mission-critical authentication platforms. The ideal candidate will independently translate business and product requirements into scalable QA strategies, build automation frameworks, ensure system resilience under high traffic, and maintain audit-ready processes aligned with fintech and banking compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Strategy & Leadership
Own the end-to-end QA strategy for B2B authentication systems and consumer-facing applications. Define testing standards, release governance, and risk-based testing frameworks. Establish automation-first QA practices and develop structured regression, performance, and security testing pipelines. Collaborate closely with engineering and DevOps teams to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle. Lead QA planning, risk assessments, and production sign-offs.

Functional & API Testing (Authentication Systems)
Design and execute comprehensive test cases covering multi-factor authentication workflows, OTP validation, JWT/OAuth authentication, session lifecycle, token expiry, and role-based access control. Perform API validation using tools like Postman and REST Assured. Validate edge cases including retry logic, rate limiting, and lockout mechanisms. Ensure reliability across devices, browsers, and environments.

Automation Engineering & CI/CD Integration
Develop and maintain scalable automation frameworks. Implement UI automation using Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress, and build API automation pipelines. Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI. Ensure high regression coverage for critical authentication flows.

Performance & Load Engineering
Design load testing strategies to simulate high-volume authentication traffic, including concurrent login bursts and OTP validation surges. Utilize tools like JMeter, k6, or Gatling to identify bottlenecks and optimize scalability. Validate system behavior under peak stress conditions.

Enterprise Observability & APM Monitoring
Work with DevOps to implement enterprise-grade APM and observability tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Datadog, or New Relic. Monitor authentication latency, error rates, API response times, and infrastructure health. Define SLAs and SLOs aligned with banking standards. Implement alerting for anomaly detection and support distributed tracing and root cause analysis.

Security Testing & Compliance Readiness
Conduct vulnerability assessments and security testing using OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, or SonarQube. Validate encryption, token integrity, brute-force protection, and injection prevention. Ensure readiness for fintech and banking compliance standards. Maintain structured defect logs and audit documentation.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum 2 years of experience in QA or quality engineering, preferably in fintech, banking, SaaS, or security platforms
- Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC, risk-based and regression testing methodologies
- Proven expertise in API-first testing environments, OAuth 2.0, JWT, and secure session handling
- Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, and performance testing tools like JMeter or k6
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline integration and enterprise-grade APM tools (Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Datadog, or equivalents)
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently
- Experience working on production-grade systems and leading QA initiatives or mentoring team members is preferred
