Namal Education Foundation is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to oversee cost control, procurement, and contract administration for its civil engineering projects. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project budgets, negotiating costs, and ensuring efficient material procurement to support uninterrupted site operations. This position requires close coordination with site teams and reporting directly to the Project Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare quantities and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) from project drawings to assist in accurate costing and budget preparation.
- Evaluate and negotiate costs related to contractors and materials, carefully scrutinizing rates and variations to ensure value for money.
- Monitor material usage and procurement processes to maintain consistent supply and avoid delays on site.
- Assess the financial impact of design changes and update project budgets accordingly in a timely manner.
- Draft contracts, prepare detailed reports, conduct risk assessments, and propose cost-saving measures.
- Liaise effectively with site managers, contractors, and subcontractors, providing regular updates to the Project Director.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in quantity surveying or construction cost management, demonstrating a strong track record.
- Proven capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel; familiarity with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera is advantageous.
- Residency in Lahore with the willingness to travel to project sites in Mianwali.
- Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality in all aspects of work.
