This role focuses on coordinating and guiding IT maintenance and support activities to ensure the effective delivery of technology services. Key Responsibilities
- Perform system and hardware maintenance, including network monitoring and system protection, to maintain optimal technology performance.
- Monitor technology reliability, analyze user needs and data, and generate reports to recommend IT solutions that support informed decision-making.
- Independently resolve IT queries, escalating complex issues as needed, to provide accurate and timely support to staff.
- Deliver standard technical training to end-users on commonly used technologies and systems, enhancing staff capability.
- Guide and train junior IT colleagues to strengthen the team’s overall support capacity.
- Assist in coordinating the implementation of new applications to equip WFP staff with necessary tools.
- Prepare standard documentation such as end-user guides and technical manuals to ensure accessibility of IT information.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within IT processes and methods to enhance service quality.
- Oversee installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems in line with operational procedures.
- Lead and coordinate a team of IT staff to meet individual and collective objectives while adhering to organizational policies.
- Follow established emergency response protocols to support urgent food assistance operations.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of secondary education is required; a post-secondary certificate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant IT certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, or ITIL are desirable.
- A minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience in IT operations, preferably including administration within the UN or other international organizations.
- Experience analyzing service management outcomes and recommending enhancements.
- Participation in business process re-engineering and identification of service improvements.
- Familiarity with country office procurement and budgeting processes.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Urdu.
