Regional Executive Credit (AVP / VP) - TJ / 1885258

National Bank of Pakistan, one of the country’s largest and most reputable financial institutions, is seeking a Regional Executive Credit (AVP / VP) to join its team in Gwadar and Sibi. The position falls within the Credit Risk Management Division and focuses on managing credit risk in the region, particularly in commercial, SME, and agricultural lending.

Key Responsibilities:
- Exercise delegated credit approval authority for SME, Commercial, and Agricultural credit proposals related to both conventional and Islamic banking in the Gwadar region. This includes thorough analysis of credit risk, obligor creditworthiness, and collateral evaluation while ensuring compliance with internal policies and SBP prudential regulations.
- Lead and manage a team of two credit officers, providing guidance and ensuring high performance.
- Support the Credit Hub Head and GM Credit Risk with credit review, assessment, and ongoing monitoring activities.
- Liaise with various stakeholders at the regional level, including business units, CAD, and audit teams, to ensure smooth operational workflows.
- Address audit requirements and observations related to the area of responsibility, coordinating with Head Office to resolve issues and implement preventive measures.
- Ensure all credit processes are completed within specified turnaround times.
- Monitor the credit portfolio for early warning signs, maintain portfolio MIS and staff data, and ensure timely submission of reports.
- Train and develop team members, maintaining high standards and planning for succession.
- Perform any additional assignments as directed by supervisors.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum graduation or equivalent degree from a university or institute recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
- At least six years of banking experience, with a minimum of four years in commercial and/or SME banking, either on the business or risk management side within a commercial bank.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Proficient credit risk assessment capabilities for SME and commercial portfolios.
- Knowledge of State Bank of Pakistan’s prudential regulations.
- Understanding of various types of collateral.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to apply sector-specific and macroeconomic knowledge to credit judgments.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- A Master’s degree and/or relevant professional certifications will be considered an advantage.
- Exposure to agricultural lending is desirable.
- The position is offered on a contractual basis for three years, with the possibility of renewal at management’s discretion.
