The Relationship Officer Asset Sales - Islamic at Mobilink Microfinance Bank Ltd. (MMBL) plays a vital role in driving product marketing, sales, client servicing, financing booking, and document processing in strict adherence to Shariah-compliant principles. This position ensures timely delivery and repayment of financings, maintains portfolio quality, and provides periodic portfolio updates. The role also emphasizes customer facilitation aligned with regulatory frameworks on Fair Treatment of Customers and Shariah compliance, contributing to the bank’s growth and reputation in Islamic banking.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement approved sales and service plans to achieve the bank’s growth objectives by coordinating with Branch Managers and Relationship Managers at a micro level.
- Achieve sales targets by generating quality financing while strictly adhering to Shariah guidelines and avoiding bad financing practices.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships following MMBL’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ethical standards.
- Execute cross-selling strategies to meet assigned business objectives.
- Proactively manage portfolio collections and default strategies in line with Shariah-compliant practices, ensuring recoveries in current, Non-Performing Loan (NPL), and charged-off categories.
- Ensure recoveries are deposited through the cash counter as per bank guidelines.
- Conduct financing bookings in strict compliance with bank policies, procedures, Shariah standards, and ethical norms.
- Perform physical verification of prospective clients to ensure on-track performance.
- Handle customer legal documents with utmost care to prevent misuse.
- Guide customers to make financing repayments exclusively at the cash counter.
- Avoid direct cash handling during the Relationship Officer function; if collections are made in the field, ensure strict compliance with the collection manual and Shariah guidelines.
- Maintain high service quality by adhering to internal service standards and the bank’s Fair Treatment of Customer policy, ensuring no service-related complaints.
- Build and sustain long-term relationships with customers based on Islamic principles.
- Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the bank.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a reputable institution is mandatory. Degrees in Islamic Finance, Management Sciences, Commerce, Accounting & Finance, Economics, or Agriculture are preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience, with prior experience in Islamic banking highly desirable.
- Strong customer service orientation with convincing, selling, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in collection management.
- Fluency in the local language.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Skills in business planning, retail banking, and customer service within an Islamic banking context.
- Comprehensive understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements for Islamic banks, including Shariah Board approvals and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Islamic banking regulations.
- Certification in Islamic banking is highly desirable.
