Based in Pakistan, this full-time remote role requires a seasoned Hotel General Manager or Hotel Operations Leader to oversee the operations and financial performance of U.S.-based hotel properties. The position demands a hands-on hospitality professional with deep knowledge of U.S. branded hotel operations, capable of managing property leadership, financial controls, revenue growth, guest satisfaction, staffing, and brand compliance from a remote location. Candidates should have extensive senior leadership experience with major U.S. hotel brands such as Marriott, Choice Hotels, IHG, Hilton, Wyndham, or comparable international brands. This role is not administrative but requires active engagement with on-site teams and ownership to drive operational excellence and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Hotel Operations Management: Oversee daily hotel operations through the U.S.-based property management team, conducting daily virtual meetings with department heads. Monitor all departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, Sales, and Revenue Management. Conduct regular virtual property inspections and ensure operational discipline and accountability across all teams.
Financial Performance & Controls: Review daily performance reports and dashboards, tracking key metrics such as Occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, Room Revenue, and GOP. Oversee revenue reports, bank deposits, credit card settlements, and cash reconciliations. Monitor P&L performance, departmental expenses, payroll, and operating costs. Manage accounts payable, vendor balances, and identify financial discrepancies to strengthen internal controls and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Revenue Management & Sales Performance: Collaborate with revenue management teams to optimize occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and overall revenue. Review pricing strategies, market positioning, and sales performance including group, corporate, and transient segments. Analyze sales pipelines, leads, contracts, and production reports to identify growth opportunities.
Guest Experience & Brand Compliance: Monitor guest satisfaction scores, complaints, online reviews, and service recovery efforts. Ensure strict adherence to brand standards from Marriott, Choice, Hilton, IHG, or other relevant brands. Oversee brand audits and quality expectations to enhance guest experience and service delivery.
Staffing & Team Management: Manage staffing levels, schedules, overtime, and labor productivity. Evaluate departmental performance against KPIs and hold leaders accountable. Support property leadership in improving operational efficiency and cost control.
Reporting & Ownership Communication: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports for ownership, providing insights into financial performance, operational challenges, revenue opportunities, and improvement plans. Escalate critical issues promptly and assist ownership in driving profitability and accountability.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have a minimum of 8 years in hotel management, with prior roles such as Hotel General Manager, Hotel Manager, Director of Operations, Director of Rooms, Director of Finance, or senior hotel executive positions. Experience with Marriott International, Choice Hotels, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or other major international hotel brands is strongly preferred. A solid understanding of U.S. hotel operations and franchise standards is essential, along with experience managing full-service or large limited-service hotels.
Proficiency in hotel P&L statements, budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, labor management, and financial reporting is required. Candidates should be familiar with occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, GOP, and departmental profitability metrics. Experience using hotel PMS, revenue management systems, and reporting platforms is necessary. Strong Excel and financial analysis skills, excellent written and spoken English, and effective leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities are critical. The ability to constructively challenge property teams and maintain accountability is essential.
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Details
Experience working directly with U.S. hotel owners, franchise companies, or management companies is highly valued. The candidate must be comfortable working U.S. business hours from Pakistan, including evenings and nights, to ensure effective communication with U.S.-based teams and ownership.
Ideal candidates have previously worked with Marriott brands (Marriott Hotels, Courtyard, Fairfield, Four Points), Choice Hotels (Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality Inn), IHG (Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza), Hilton (Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Hampton, DoubleTree), or Wyndham (Wyndham, Ramada, Days Inn).
This role requires an owner-minded operator who can analyze daily hotel performance, identify financial and operational issues, and take immediate action to improve results. Compensation ranges from Rs130,000 to Rs180,000 per hour.
