Turing, headquartered in San Francisco, California, is a leading research accelerator for frontier AI labs and a trusted partner for global enterprises deploying advanced AI systems. The company supports its customers by accelerating cutting-edge research through high-quality data, advanced training pipelines, and top AI researchers specializing in coding, reasoning, STEM, multilinguality, multimodality, and agents. Additionally, Turing helps enterprises transform AI from proof of concept into proprietary intelligence by delivering reliable systems that generate measurable impact and lasting results on business performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Design original and challenging mathematics problems that push the reasoning limits of large language models, focusing on multi-step, abstract, and proof-based scenarios.
- Independently solve complex problems and produce detailed, logically structured solutions with clear justifications.
- Review model-generated solutions to identify mathematical errors or gaps, providing precise feedback, annotations, and corrections.
- Contribute to the development of new evaluation benchmarks aligned with Mathematics curricula ranging from early undergraduate to PhD-level topics.
- Develop and validate Python-based solutions for computational tasks using approved scientific libraries.
- Work on theorem-prover tasks using Lean, including translating mathematical problems and proofs into formal language and verifying that formal proofs compile correctly.
- Apply advanced mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, computational thinking, and clear written communication to improve and evaluate large language models.
- Design precise, closed-ended prompts and write reliable Python code to verify numerical answers and provide clear rationales.
- Leverage AI tools to enhance analytical skills and future-proof your career in an AI-driven world.

Required Qualifications
- Strong foundation in mathematics, equivalent to the level expected in engineering entrance exams and graduate or PhD-level programs.
- Excellent analytical and research skills with the ability to break down complex mathematical concepts into simple, clear explanations.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and detailed annotations on mathematical content.
- Creative and lateral thinking skills to approach problems innovatively.
- Excellent structured communication and collaboration skills, particularly in a remote work environment.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with a reliable desktop or laptop and a stable internet connection.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Candidates pursuing or holding a Master’s, Ph.D., or Postdoctoral degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields are highly encouraged to apply.
- Proven ability to analyze and solve complex math problems using a structured and logical approach.
- Skilled in explaining mathematical concepts clearly using simple language, visuals, and examples.

Perks of Freelancing with Turing
- Fully remote work environment offering flexibility and convenience.
- Opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI projects in collaboration with leading large language model companies.
- Potential for contract extension based on performance and project requirements.

Offer Details
- Commitment of at least 4 hours per day and a minimum of 20 hours per week, with a required 4-hour overlap with Pacific Standard Time (PST). Options for 20, 30, or 40 hours per week are available.
- Engagement as a contractor/freelancer without medical or paid leave benefits.

This role offers a unique opportunity to engage deeply with advanced mathematical reasoning and AI research, helping shape the future of intelligent systems while developing your expertise in a rapidly evolving field.
