Turing, headquartered in San Francisco, California, is a global leader in accelerating frontier AI research and a trusted partner for enterprises deploying advanced AI systems. The company supports its clients by providing high-quality data, advanced training pipelines, and expert AI researchers specializing in coding, reasoning, STEM, multilinguality, multimodality, and agents. Turing also helps organizations transition AI projects from proof of concept to reliable, proprietary intelligence that delivers measurable business impact.

In this role, you will contribute to fine-tuning large language models, such as ChatGPT, by leveraging your strong analytical skills and proficiency in English comprehension. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in Physics, comparable to the level expected in engineering entrance exams and graduate or PhD programs. You will be responsible for breaking down complex Physics concepts into clear, simple explanations while working efficiently. This position offers a unique opportunity to enhance your analytical abilities using AI tools, helping you future-proof your career in an AI-driven world.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and solve challenging Physics problems to test the capabilities and limitations of large language models.
- Develop clear, high-quality, step-by-step solutions with well-articulated reasoning.
- Collaborate closely with LLM researchers to ensure problems align with evaluation goals, focusing on areas where models often struggle, such as abstraction, multi-step reasoning, and symbolic manipulation.
- Assist in defining new evaluation benchmarks based on Physics curricula, ranging from early undergraduate to PhD-level topics.

Required Qualifications:
- Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to approach problems methodically.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and detailed annotations.
- Creative and lateral thinking skills to approach complex challenges innovatively.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly in a remote work environment.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Access to a reliable desktop or laptop with a stable internet connection.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
Candidates currently pursuing a Ph.D. or Postdoctoral degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or related fields are highly encouraged to apply. A demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex physics problems using a structured, logical approach is essential. Additionally, the ability to explain physics concepts clearly, using simple language, visuals, and sound physics reasoning, will be highly valued.

Working with Turing offers the flexibility of a fully remote work environment and the chance to engage with cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading large language model companies. There is potential for contract extensions based on performance and project requirements.
