Research Assistant

The Research Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the legal team by conducting thorough case-related research, reviewing legislation, regulations, and relevant case law. Responsibilities include preparing concise research briefs and summaries, organizing and analyzing legal documents, assisting in drafting memos and reports, and maintaining accurate records of research sources and findings. The role requires close collaboration with attorneys to identify pertinent precedents and factual information, as well as coordinating with team members to ensure timely completion of case-related tasks. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Mardan, requiring regular office attendance and active engagement with the legal staff.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed legal research on statutes, case law, regulations, and academic sources relevant to ongoing cases.
- Prepare clear and concise research briefs, summaries, and reports to assist attorneys in case preparation.
- Organize, review, and analyze legal documents and data to support case strategies.
- Assist in drafting internal memos and legal correspondence as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of research findings and sources.
- Collaborate closely with attorneys and team members to identify relevant precedents and factual information.
- Support the legal team in meeting deadlines and managing case workflows efficiently.

Required Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal information and identify patterns to support evidence-based recommendations.
- Excellent research capabilities to gather, evaluate, and synthesize information from statutes, case law, academic publications, and online legal databases.
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively prepare research summaries and facilitate internal collaboration.
- Relevant investigative or structured analytical skills applicable to empirical or data-driven legal research projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Legal Studies, Political Science, or a related field; candidates in their final year of study are also encouraged to apply. Advanced legal education is considered an advantage.
- Proficiency in legal research tools, online databases, and standard office software such as MS Word, Excel, and PDF management tools.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and deadlines, and a commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.
