The Aga Khan University’s Institute of Global Health Development, based in Gilgit-Baltistan, is seeking a dedicated professional to join its Medical College on a grant-funded contractual basis. The university is renowned for its commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service, with its teaching hospital accredited by the Joint Commission International. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to impactful research projects within a diverse and inclusive environment that values respectful and ethical engagement with all stakeholders, including vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities

You will oversee and monitor all research activities related to the project, ensuring smooth implementation and adherence to study protocols. This includes supervising data collection and analysis, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with team members to meet project deadlines. You will be responsible for reviewing relevant literature and actively participating in the development of research proposals. Establishing and maintaining effective communication with granting agencies and other stakeholders is essential for project operations.

Your role will also involve evaluating and validating collected data, conducting both qualitative and quantitative analyses, and developing appropriate search strategies. You will train and mentor junior staff, design data collection tools tailored to project needs, and contribute significantly to peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals. Additionally, you will prepare and submit weekly progress reports and present project-related activity updates as required. Other duties may be assigned by your supervisor to support project goals.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should hold an MBBS degree or a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or a related field, reflecting 16 years of education. Proficiency in relevant software applications and a foundational understanding of data collection, analysis, and interpretation—particularly in report writing and biostatistics—are necessary. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are expected, along with good writing abilities. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in English and Sindhi.

Comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted to ensure suitability for the role.

This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful research within a reputable institution committed to high standards and inclusive values.
