This role offers an opportunity to contribute to community health by promoting maternal and neonatal child health (MNH) practices within targeted populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Mobilize communities to actively participate in promoting maternal and neonatal child health practices and identify areas requiring MNH education and support.
- Conduct surveys to identify research staff for forming health committees.
- Prepare periodic work plans and progress reports, ensuring timely submission to the line manager.
- Facilitate smooth implementation of activities through effective team coordination.
- Supervise and monitor field activities across both covered and uncovered areas.
- Validate field activities such as female support group meetings and group sessions.
- Conduct training sessions and refresher courses for project staff as needed.
- Design research instruments to support project objectives.
- Strengthen referral mechanisms from the community to MNH sites and manage the Emergency Transport Fund System.
- Ensure village health committees provide comprehensive support to project activities.
- Support training and capacity-building initiatives, including organizing training venues, managing logistics, and providing technical assistance.
- Coordinate with local government representatives to align project activities.
- Monitor and participate in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings at the district level alongside staff.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or MBBS is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience, ideally within community settings, hospitals, or research facilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Word and Excel.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within teams and demonstrate resilience under work pressure.
- Excellent report writing and communication abilities.
- Willingness to work in community settings and travel as required by the role.
