This role involves providing senior technical and site-level oversight of the electrical components for assigned solar projects, including utility-scale and rooftop photovoltaic (PV) systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and plant-level control and communication (C&C/SCADA) systems. The position acts on behalf of the Project Management Unit (PMU) for Solar, ensuring that all electrical works meet the required standards and project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor the construction and installation activities to ensure compliance with approved technical specifications, drawings, quality plans, contractual milestones, and electrical safety regulations. Coordinate detailed technical reviews with appointed consultants to maintain project standards. Review electrical designs, submittals, equipment, and inspection records related to modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, earthing, BESS/Power Conversion Systems (PCS), and plant-level communication systems. Identify and flag any deviations for formal resolution.

Participate in site inspections, site acceptance tests, commissioning, performance and reliability testing, and defect close-out processes as authorized. This participation does not replace the responsibilities of the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor or independent Third-Party Verification (TPV). Coordinate technical interfaces at interconnection points with the Water & Power Development Authority (W&PD GB) for non-solar grid works and manage project-wide C&C/SCADA interfaces. Maintain interface and dependency registers to track these interactions.

Verify progress evidence, quantities, and site records, and review payment-related technical documentation for onward referral through the prescribed consultant, TPV, and PMU approval channels. Lead the assigned electrical field staff, maintain site issue and defect registers, review Operation & Maintenance (O&M) documentation, and report progress, technical risks, and corrective measures to the Project Director.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must hold a four-year Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Power Engineering from an HEC-recognized university. A minimum of 10 years of relevant post-qualification experience is required, with at least 5 years in site supervision, design review, installation, testing, or commissioning of electrical power systems. Experience should be within power generation, electrical infrastructure, or renewable energy EPC projects. The maximum age limit for applicants is 40 years.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Experience in grid-connected solar PV systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Power Conversion Systems (PCS), plant-level SCADA, electrical protection, and grid interconnection is highly preferred. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge renewable energy projects within a structured and professional environment. The position is classified under the PPS-10 pay scale, with two vacancies available.

Applications are invited from qualified professionals who meet the eligibility criteria. The deadline for submission is November 15, 2026.
