Restaurant Cashier

We are looking for a professional and customer-oriented Restaurant Cashier with specialized experience in the Devaj POS system. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently processing customer transactions, managing payments, and ensuring smooth operations at the cash register. This role demands a detail-focused and reliable individual who can operate the Devaj POS system proficiently while delivering excellent service in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Transaction Handling: Accurately process customer orders, apply discounts, and manage payments using the Devaj POS system, ensuring error-free transactions.
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, provide helpful information about menu items, prices, and promotions, and assist with inquiries.
- Cash and Payment Management: Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions securely, and ensure the cash drawer balances at the start and end of each shift.
- Order Accuracy: Verify orders for accuracy before finalizing sales and communicate any discrepancies to kitchen staff or customers promptly.
- POS System Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in operating the Devaj POS system, including processing refunds, voids, and order modifications.
- Promotions and Discounts: Correctly apply promotions and discounts to ensure customers receive the best available offers.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the cashier station clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies such as receipt paper and pens.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with waitstaff and kitchen teams to ensure smooth service and accurate order fulfillment.
- Problem Solving: Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary, prioritizing customer satisfaction.
- Compliance and Security: Adhere to company policies to protect cash, credit card information, and sensitive customer data.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience as a cashier, preferably within a restaurant setting.
- Proficiency in using the Devaj POS system or similar point-of-sale software.
- Strong numeracy skills and meticulous attention to detail in handling cash and payments.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in hospitality is advantageous.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
