This role involves owning the complete electronic security solution for each project bid, covering everything from camera coverage and door schedules to supporting the system through commissioning. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the security system are designed, implemented, and verified to meet project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-sales: Develop system architecture and design coverage requirements. Prepare device bills of materials (BOM), calculate storage and bandwidth needs, and determine licensing and integration requirements. Define door schedules and interface needs, establish the technical scope, and outline testing and commissioning criteria.
Post-sales: Manage the handoff process, respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and substitutions, provide implementation support, and verify commissioning to ensure the system meets specifications.
Specialty Lead: Assign and review work completed by part-time engineers, ensure adherence to S4 standards and preferred platforms, and serve as the escalation point for S4 Service Desk cases.
Required Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 4 years designing video surveillance systems is essential.
Certifications: Must hold at least one certification from a Video Management System (VMS) or camera manufacturer.
Skills: Proficiency in camera coverage and storage calculations, as well as licensing requirements, is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in access control and intrusion system design is advantageous, particularly with K-12 security projects. Additional certifications from platforms such as Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, or Axis, as well as certifications related to access control platforms, are preferred. Familiarity with door hardware interfaces and door schedules is also beneficial.
This position is a transition role with no new hiring; People Operations will provide updated titles, scope, and reporting lines in writing.
