The National Land Agency’s Corporate Services Division is seeking a Salaries Officer (Level 4) to join their Payroll team. Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Payroll, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payment of staff salaries within the designated payroll cycle. This role also involves processing all salary-related adjustments efficiently to maintain payroll accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

- Post salary particulars and adjustments into the payroll system to guarantee timely and accurate salary processing.
- File all correspondence and orders related to employees’ salary adjustments.
- Verify honorarium and overtime payments, making necessary adjustments to employees’ payroll records.
- Input all payroll adjustments into the payroll application.
- Package personal deduction cheques for delivery and update related records.
- Review deductions on the Payroll Register Summary to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare payment vouchers for approval.
- Address and resolve staff-related payroll queries promptly.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Payroll.

Required Qualifications

- Five (5) GCE O’ Level or CXC subjects, including English Language and a numeric subject.
- AAT Level 2 or CAT Level B certification.
- Diploma in Accounting from a recognized institution.
- Completion of Government Accounting Level 2 Modules 1-5.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ related working experience in payroll or accounting functions.

Required Competencies and Skills

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective time management abilities.
- Excellent knowledge of payroll policies and procedures.
- Sound understanding of financial and accounting principles, including familiarity with the FAA Act.
- Proficiency in using Biz-Pay computer applications.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated sound work ethics.

Remuneration Package

The salary range for this position is $1,711,060.00 to $2,301,185.00 per annum.
