NorthBay Solutions, an AWS Premier Consulting Partner with distributed teams across the US, Canada, UAE, India, and Pakistan, is seeking a highly skilled SecOps Security Engineer (L3) to join their Security Operations team. This role focuses on supporting a large-scale 24x7 security operations environment with a strong emphasis on managing Check Point, Palo Alto, and Fortinet firewalls. The ideal candidate will bring 7 to 10 years of experience in security operations, demonstrating hands-on expertise with enterprise security technologies such as firewalls, web security, endpoint protection, VPNs, and security operations processes. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to respond effectively to security incidents within complex enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and troubleshoot Check Point, Palo Alto, and Fortinet firewalls to ensure optimal security posture.
- Implement and review firewall policies, access control lists (ACLs), network address translation (NAT), and other security rules.
- Administer Web Application Firewall (WAF), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and proxy security solutions.
- Support endpoint security platforms including Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and antivirus solutions.
- Investigate security incidents thoroughly and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Review security logs, alerts, and operational events to identify and mitigate potential threats.
- Support audit, compliance, and security governance initiatives to maintain regulatory standards.
- Execute security hardening and vulnerability remediation activities to strengthen the environment.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and operational reports.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) activities and readiness exercises to ensure business continuity.
Required Qualifications
- 7-10 years of experience in Security Operations, preferably supporting enterprise environments.
- Proficiency in managing Check Point, Palo Alto, or Fortinet firewalls.
- Experience with WAF and IPS technologies.
- Skilled in VPN and MFA administration.
- Strong knowledge of endpoint security solutions including EDR, DLP, and antivirus platforms.
- Expertise in security incident investigation and firewall rule review.
- Familiarity with vulnerability management practices.
- Understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes such as Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex security issues and respond to incidents effectively.
