Coordinate with external auditors, tax preparers, and the finance team to meet statutory and compliance obligations. Maintain and enhance internal controls related to cash, inventory, fixed assets, and payroll to safeguard company assets.
Fixed Assets & Capital Accounting
Maintain the fixed asset register and prepare monthly and quarterly fixed asset rollforward schedules, tracking beginning balances, additions, disposals, transfers, and ending balances. Reconcile the fixed asset subledger with the general ledger each period, investigating and resolving any discrepancies. Calculate and record monthly depreciation in accordance with U.S. GAAP, ensuring that useful lives and depreciation methods are applied consistently and accurately.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce is required. Professional certifications such as CPA (U.S.), ACCA, or CA are strongly preferred. Candidates should have 5 to 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on involvement with fixed asset accounting and capital asset management. A strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accrual-basis accounting is essential, including experience preparing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Experience with commonly used U.S. ERP/accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, SAP, or Oracle is highly desirable. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling, are important for success in this role. The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is critical.
Skills and Competencies
The ideal candidate will demonstrate high attention to detail and accuracy, especially under tight monthly close deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are required to reconcile complex, high-volume transaction data effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to explain financial results clearly to non-finance stakeholders. Integrity and discretion in handling sensitive financial information are paramount. The role requires someone who can work independently while also collaborating effectively across departments, managing competing priorities and deadlines with professionalism.
