We are looking for a seasoned Senior Accountant to manage daily financial operations and ensure accurate, compliant financial reporting in line with U.S. GAAP. This role demands a strong grasp of accrual accounting, with particular responsibility for fixed asset accounting and reconciliations. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting audit and tax processes within a dynamic finance team.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Close
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Oversee the monthly close process by managing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations across various business units and departments.
- Consolidate financial data from multiple branches or locations as applicable.
- Maintain financial records and reporting in USD, adhering to the company’s reporting calendar and deadlines.
Compliance & Internal Controls
- Ensure that the company’s accounting records comply with U.S. GAAP and support audit and tax requirements for the U.S. entity.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax preparers, and the broader finance team on statutory and compliance deliverables.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls over cash, inventory, fixed assets, and payroll processes.
Fixed Assets & Capital Accounting
- Maintain the fixed asset register and prepare monthly or quarterly rollforward schedules detailing beginning balances, additions, disposals, transfers, and ending balances.
- Reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger each period and investigate any discrepancies.
- Calculate and record monthly depreciation in accordance with U.S. GAAP, ensuring proper application of useful lives and depreciation methods.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce. CPA (U.S.), ACCA, or CA certification is strongly preferred.
- 5 to 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated expertise in fixed asset accounting and capital asset management.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accrual-basis accounting, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Hands-on experience with widely used U.S. ERP/accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, SAP, or Oracle.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
