We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accounts Manager to oversee our financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all accounting activities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in corporate finance, with specialized expertise in shipping and freight accounting. This role requires managing the complete accounting cycle, including financial reporting, tax compliance, and handling complex agent and freight remittances within a fast-paced shipping environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and manage accurate month-end and year-end financial statements to support strategic business decisions.

Audit & Compliance: Conduct internal audits to verify financial accuracy, identify discrepancies, and maintain robust internal controls.

Ledger Management: Oversee the entire accounts payable and receivable cycle, ensuring timely collections from clients and prompt payments to vendors.

Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to maintain precise cash flow records and facilitate smooth monthly and quarterly closing processes.

Taxation: Calculate, file, and ensure strict compliance with sales tax and withholding tax regulations.

Industry-Specific Accounting: Manage specialized shipping and freight accounting tasks, including tracking shipment margins and operational costs.

Remittances: Execute and monitor agent remittances accurately to uphold financial integrity.

Import Freight: Process and manage international remittances related to import freight, ensuring compliance with foreign exchange regulations and banking requirements.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com), Business Administration (BBA), ACCA, or CA Inter.

Experience: 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in standard accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or ERP systems, along with advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.

Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Prior experience in the shipping, logistics, or freight forwarding industry is highly preferred, as it provides valuable insight into industry-specific accounting practices.

The position offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs75,000 to Rs125,000.
