Senior AI Engineer

As a Senior Applied AI Software Engineer, you will design and deliver sophisticated AI-enabled product features with minimal supervision. This role moves beyond traditional frontend or backend distinctions, embracing a full-stack, T-shaped skill set that covers UI, APIs, services, and data pipelines. You will act as a technical authority within your team, mentoring peers and elevating AI-native engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Serve as a technical cornerstone within your squad, designing and delivering complex features that ensure both backend ("engine") and frontend ("experience") components are performant, secure, and scalable.
- Take full ownership of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) for digital banking products, from initial concept and architectural design through to release and ongoing maintenance.
- Enhance system architecture by designing components that integrate seamlessly across APIs and microservices.
- Provide technical leadership by mentoring junior engineers, conducting thorough code reviews, and promoting high engineering standards.
- Drive innovation by contributing to the development of LLM-based voice assistants and real-time personalization engines leveraging OpenAI and machine learning models.
- Maintain a security-first approach by implementing entitlements and fraud prevention services, with a strong focus on non-functional requirements such as security, scalability, and resilience.
- Collaborate effectively within a Pod-based model, working alongside Architects, Product Owners, and UX Designers to align technical solutions with business objectives.

Required Qualifications

- 5 to 7+ years of professional experience developing complex, high-traffic software products.
- Strong backend expertise with proficiency in Java, Spring JPA/Hibernate, and Maven. Experience with microservices architecture (Netflix OSS is a plus) and cloud technologies.
- Solid frontend skills, particularly in Angular and TypeScript, with proficiency in RxJS and modern build tools like Webpack and Jenkins. Experience with Vue.js is advantageous.
- Deep understanding of system design principles, including Enterprise Integration Patterns, enabling you to architect systems that manage complex data flows between services.
- A senior mindset that goes beyond ticket resolution to proactively identify tooling gaps, reduce technical debt, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for efficient delivery.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and secure buy-in for architectural decisions.
- Prior experience in the Fintech or Banking domain is highly desirable.
