Senior AI Engineer

Contour Software, a rapidly growing subsidiary of Constellation Software Inc., is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join the Dealer Information Systems Corporation (DIS) division. With over 2,000 employees across three cities, Contour supports global enterprise software solutions in more than 100 industry domains. The Senior AI Engineer will be based in Lahore or Islamabad and will play a key role in designing and developing advanced AI platforms, including generative AI systems, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions, semantic search pipelines, and large language model (LLM) orchestration layers. This position offers the opportunity to build AI capabilities from the ground up and contribute to customer-facing products and operational intelligence within a leading North American business management software provider.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement enterprise-grade generative AI architecture, including production-ready RAG systems, semantic search, embeddings workflows, and vector data infrastructure.
- Architect advanced LLM orchestration layers to support multi-step reasoning, tool integration, and AI-driven workflows.
- Develop scalable patterns for agentic systems and domain-specific AI assistants.
- Integrate various LLM providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and open-weight models into secure, observable enterprise systems.
- Build AI service layers, orchestration APIs, caching mechanisms, evaluation pipelines, and monitoring frameworks with a focus on latency, cost optimization, safety, and reliability.
- Establish quality benchmarks and evaluation strategies for AI-generated outputs.
- Implement responsible AI practices including guardrails, policy enforcement, hallucination mitigation, and governance standards for data provenance, auditability, and transparency.
- Collaborate with product leaders to translate business problems into AI-native solutions and prioritize impactful AI features.
- Mentor engineering teams to elevate organizational AI maturity and transition projects from proof-of-concept to scalable production systems.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience building applied AI/ML systems, with strong recent expertise in generative AI.
- Proven track record of shipping LLM-powered applications involving RAG, embeddings, prompt engineering, and model adaptation.
- Deep knowledge of vector search, semantic retrieval, and AI system evaluation methodologies.
- Experience with orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or LlamaIndex, or equivalent custom architectures.
- Strong cloud-native engineering skills on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and experience developing scalable backend systems and APIs.
- Hands-on experience implementing observability, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring for AI systems in production.
- Ability to balance innovation with enterprise requirements including security, compliance, and reliability.
