Senior AI Engineer

NorthBay is seeking a Senior AI Engineer with over 8 years of professional experience in data science, specializing in data processing, visualization, and structuring. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leveraging advanced analytics to extract actionable insights from complex datasets and designing sophisticated predictive models to enhance forecasting capabilities. This role requires excellent analytical and communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and translate technical findings into business value. The position is full-time and based in Karachi, offering a hybrid work environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of large language model (LLM)-driven systems and agentic AI workflows.
- Develop and manage robust data pipelines for extracting, structuring, and processing large datasets that support AI-driven initiatives.
- Integrate LLMs such as OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude, Gemini, and Llama into data workflows to improve automation, insight generation, and business intelligence.
- Collaborate closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for adopting LLMs and agentic AI in operational processes.
- Build Python-based tools and scripts focused on data processing, visualization, and decision automation.
- Conduct research and benchmarking of cutting-edge open-source and proprietary AI models to ensure alignment with project and product goals.
- Implement data monitoring tools and automated pipelines to maintain accuracy, reliability, and scalability of deployed models and systems.
- Contribute actively to generative AI (GenAI) initiatives by experimenting with new AI frameworks and agentic architectures to drive innovation.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in data science, data engineering, or AI-focused roles.
- Hands-on experience working with LLMs such as GPT-4/5, Claude, Gemini, Llama, or similar models.
- Strong expertise in agentic AI systems and their practical applications within business or technical workflows.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python, including data manipulation, API integrations, prompt engineering, and workflow automation.
- Deep understanding of data structuring, processing, and visualization techniques.
- Proven track record of building and deploying data-centric and AI-assisted solutions in production environments.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and delivering complex technical projects on time.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical outputs into actionable business insights.
